Privacy Policy

How GaelAI collects, uses and protects information across accounts, submissions, community activity and real tool-view analytics.

Effective and last updated: 10 August 2026

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy explains how GaelAI handles personal information when you browse the platform, create an account, submit or manage a tool, vote, save, review, compare products, or contact us.

GaelAI is an AI-tool search, discovery and comparison platform. Tool providers linked from GaelAI operate independently and apply their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information supplied through our authentication provider, such as your name, email address, profile image and account identifier.
  • Content and product information you submit, including tool listings, descriptions, links, categories, tags, pricing details and supporting material.
  • Community activity you choose to create, such as legitimate votes, saves, ratings, reviews and comparison selections.
  • Technical and usage information, including pages viewed, approximate request information, browser/device details, timestamps and security logs.
  • Messages and other information you send when contacting GaelAI.

3. Tool views and analytics

GaelAI records genuine visits to published tool pages so that recent and lifetime activity can support analytics, Trending and other discovery features. Views are stored in aggregated time periods where practical.

Reasonable safeguards are used to reduce obvious inflation from bots, prefetch requests and repeated refreshes. Short-lived identifiers or cookies may be used for deduplication without creating a public visitor profile. Turning off the public display of view counts does not stop private analytics collection.

GaelAI does not manufacture historical activity. Tools may show zero or low activity when legitimate data is unavailable.

4. How we use information

  • Operate, secure and improve search, discovery, comparisons, alternatives and community features.
  • Authenticate accounts and provide account, submission and administration workflows.
  • Review, publish, classify and maintain tool listings.
  • Calculate legitimate discovery signals and prevent spam, abuse and engagement manipulation.
  • Respond to requests, provide important service notices and comply with applicable obligations.

5. Cookies and local storage

GaelAI and its service providers may use cookies or browser storage for authentication, security, preferences, comparison selections, analytics deduplication and essential platform operation. You can restrict cookies in your browser, but account and preference features may then stop working correctly.

6. When information is shared

Information may be processed by trusted service providers that support hosting, databases, authentication, security, analytics and platform operations. They may only use information to provide those services under their own contractual and legal obligations.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the platform, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a genuine business reorganisation. GaelAI does not sell personal information.

7. Public information and external links

Approved tool listings, public profile information and user-submitted public content can be visible to anyone and may be indexed by search engines. Do not publish personal or confidential information that you do not want to be public.

GaelAI links to third-party AI products and websites. We do not control their tracking, accounts, payments or data practices.

8. Retention and security

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed to operate the platform, preserve legitimate records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including under Irish and EU data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a portable copy of eligible information. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent and complain to your local data-protection authority.

Requests can be made through the contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Children, international processing and changes

GaelAI is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Service providers may process information in countries outside your own, subject to the safeguards available under applicable law.

We may update this policy as GaelAI changes. The revised date will be shown here, and material changes may be communicated through the platform where appropriate.
